About This Experience

A shared full-day trip sold by the seat, covering six stops in Komodo National Park on a fixed 07:00 to roughly 16:30 schedule. It is the straightforward version of the classic Komodo day: Padar Island in the morning light, the ranger walk on Komodo Island, Pink Beach, and snorkelling stops where manta rays and turtles are regular visitors.

Sailing at 07:00 rather than before dawn is a real trade-off and worth understanding. You get a civilised start and are back in town by late afternoon, but you reach Padar after the boats that left at 05:00. In the dry months the ridge is busiest in the first hour of light; arriving later means a fuller viewpoint but easier walking and a shorter day overall.

The boat is shared with other travellers, which is what holds the price down. Lunch, water, snorkelling equipment, a life jacket and an English-speaking guide are all included; the park permit is not.

Good to Know & Caveats

• The boat sails daily at 07:00 and returns between 16:30 and 17:00 — a later start and an earlier finish than the dawn-departure day trips.
• This is a shared trip, so you are on board with other travellers. The operator also sells the same itinerary as a private booking.
• Everyone must follow the park ranger's instructions on Komodo Island. Dragons are wild animals and the ranger sets the distance.
• The operator advises women who are menstruating not to join the Komodo Island trek — Komodo dragons track scent over long distances, and this is standard guidance across park operators.
• Manta ray and turtle sightings are wildlife-dependent and never guaranteed.
• Since 1 April 2026 Komodo National Park runs a 1,000-visitor daily quota and every entry must be pre-booked through the government's SiOra system two to three days ahead. Permits are non-refundable and non-transferable — ask the operator whether they book it for you or whether you arrange it yourself.
